in Our Work

Love the game… played the game… want your child to have more great experiences in the game, too?  Then come join us and make more Hoops Happen in Piedmont!

We’ve accomplished some pretty good stuff in recent years like:  volunteer-logo

  1. Creating and coaching competitive teams during the winter season.
  2. Organizing and coaching MVP Teams for kids from 4th through 8th grade.
  3. Winning Best Youth Entry for the kids Full Court game rolling down Highland Avenue in the middle of the 4th of July Parade.
  4. Raising and donating $15,000 to cover the cost of new Scoreboards in the PHS Binks Gym.
  5. Helping to save the wonderful Hampton courts for the drop-in play to be enjoyed for many more decades.
  6. Setting up and maintaining this website as a source for a complete range of Piedmont basketball info.
  7. Tipping off our Spring season with our annual March Madness Coaches Appreciation Night.
  8. Providing organized, cogent input to the Basketball Task Force of the Piedmont Recreation Commission.
  9. Helping to create consensus, a project plan, and $15,000 of funding for a new, safe, playable floor in the Patio Gym.
  10. Creating a 3rd Grade MVP Development program for very young hoopsters to prepare them for MVP play in 4th grade (April-May)

We have an even bigger list of objectives for 2010 season so come join us and make it happen!  Click over to the Volunteer Page to see the many ways that you can help out, either with a team or the PBBF Board.  Then send an email to info@piedmont-hoops.net or just click on Comments right below to let us know what you’d like to do!

I wanted to RSVP for 4 in our family to attend the Oct 26th barbecue. Gregory, our son, is 9 and in 4th grade at Havens and loves basketball.
