The Piedmont Basketball Foundation (PBBF) works to promote the continued development of young players as it relates to the fundamentals of basketball, sportsmanship, and athletic competition.

The PBBF teams compete in highly competitive leagues that offer players with a strong interest in basketball an opportunity to develop their fundamental skills, and to learn team play along with the essential elements of offensive / defensive strategy by competing in challenging leagues and tournaments around the Bay Area. PBBF is dedicated to providing meaningful opportunities for young players that will help them enhance their mental, physical, social, and cultural development, while engaging at a high level of competition.

Try-outs for boys and girls in 3rd – 8th grades will be held on Sunday, December 14th, location and times will be determined ASAP. Boys and girls will have try-outs at the same time, on separate courts. Please check this site often for time/location updates.

Please note these important details about the try-outs:
- Advanced registration is required. ABSOLUTELY NO WALK IN’S FOR TRY-OUTS.
- Register by Monday, December 8th
- Try-outs are closed to observers.
(We have found that players are more relaxed and focused without observers present.)
- Each child needs to bring his or her own ball.

More specifics about the PBBF teams:
- Highly competitive (playing at AAU skill level)
- 10-12 kids per team on average
- ‘B’ teams may be added in grades if we have enough players to develop & compete at this level.
- Playing time is earned through performance in practice and will not be equal among all players.
- Practice 2x during the week, games on weekends.
- Spring season runs March – May
- Games are played in Lafayette, Walnut Creek and Concord.
- Fees range from $400 – $520 depending on grade and uniform needs.

Makeup try-out: Wed, Dec 17th (time / location TBD)

We are aware that kids may have other commitments on try-out day, but we encourage you to make the December 14th session, if at all possible. The kids will be evaluated more accurately, as they will be with their peers. The makeup tryout will be an open session with all grade levels participating at once.
There will be no other makeup day offered.
