Welcome to the Spring 2017 MVP basketball season!
The 2016 season was one of our best ever, including 8 of our 14 teams playing in the championship game and 5 of them winning titles. More importantly we helped develop the skills of over 150 young players and exposed them to competitive basketball and excellent coaching.

We will hold evaluations for all players Sunday December 4th at the JamTown facility in Oakland (31 4th St., Oakland) from 11am-5pm.
A make up date may be added at a later time but we encourage attendance that day. Coaches and independent evaluators will select teams.

Please follow the registration link below to enroll your child for the Spring 2017 season. We welcome and encourage parent volunteers for team managers or coaching duties. No payment is required for attending evaluations and you need not pay for the season until you are assigned to a team. Please register ASAP in order to participate on December 4th.

The Evaluation schedule is as follows:

3pm -4pm         Boys 7th grade                                  Girls 8th grade
4pm -5pm:        Boys 8th grade

More specifics about the PBBF teams:
- Highly competitive (playing at AAU skill level) and competing in the MVP Elite league in Walnut Creek (8 league games and possibly 2 playoff games).
- Many “pro” coaches from various high school programs in the area (Piedmont, Campolindo, Alameda etc.)
- Teams available from 3rd-8th grade (both boys and girls)
- 10-12 kids per team on average. Cuts are avoided when possible but often we cannot accommodate a handful of players due to size of enrollment and limited resources.
- ‘B’ teams may be added in grades if we have enough players to develop & compete at this level.
- Playing time is earned through performance in practice and will not be equal among all players. This is a significant difference from Recreational Leagues and should be understood by both kids and parents before enrolling.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
- Spring season runs Late February – late May (roughly 12 weeks)
- Games are played in Lafayette, Walnut Creek and Concord.
- Fees $475 per player (uniforms paid for separately).
- Uniforms: a separate link will go out for new players to purchase the PBBF uniform or for returning players to get bigger sizes in jerseys and/or shorts. Orders will be placed by parents and items shipped to you directly.
- Practice: 2 times per week (coach-led practices at Jamtown in Oakland and Piedmont gyms). This is a change from last year when we offered one practice and one training session. Coaches requested two practices per week for better team development. Practice details (days, times, location) will be communicated after teams are set.

Thank you!  Please be sure to let anyone who is interested know about our website and the info here. We are looking forward to a great 2017 season!
