A stable, knowledgeable and well-functioning board is the key to an effective foundation.  The current board members are:

President / Co-Presidents Principal leaders of the Foundation and have overall responsibility of the Foundations administration.  Sets overall annual agenda, helps prioritize its goals and then keeps on track by working within that overall framework.  At the operational level, the major function of the Co-President is to facilitate effective committee meetings.  Ensures the planning and budgeting for the future is developed and carried out.

Vice President Recruiting Assess the resource needs of Foundation for general operations and special events. Recruit & recommend the appointment of volunteers to roles that suit them. Organize the orientation and induction of volunteers. Ensure that volunteers are reimbursed for their approved out-of-pocket expenses. Ensure all volunteers are recognized for their efforts. Create tracking method for Volunteers to report the hours they worked for the Foundation and report to Board monthly. Work with Secretary to maintain & update all volunteer descriptions & time requirements.

Vice President Sponsorship Responsible for raising funds or donations for Foundations events, programs and community projects.  Sponsorship in the form of individuals/families and businesses.

Secretary Take minutes of each meeting, including all motions & votes. Record actions authorized by the Board. Types up & sends minutes to Executive Board.  Assistants in maintaining Foundations operating documents; volunteer job descriptions, event descriptions and to do lists, and annual agenda.

Treasurer Responsible for all financial activities of the Foundation. Includes handling accounts payable & receivable, bank reconciliation’s, budgeting, record keeping & submitting monthly financial statements to the Board.

Coach Director Recruits coaches for MVP/Oakland Rec season.  Maintains ongoing communication with coaches about the status of team & teams’ needs throughout season.  Determine objectives for coaches’ development; organize resources & programs to fulfill needs. Maintains and develops 3rd Grade MVP program.  Develops online surveys to get systematic input on the quality of & satisfaction with PBBF teams, programs & events. Presents results to Board, & to individual coaches & team managers to help them improve. Determine objectives & needs for player development, organize resources & programs to fulfill those needs. Recommend finding 1-3 Coordinators to assist in fulfilling role; Lower & Middle School Coach Recruiter, MVP Director, and Coach Development Coordinator.

Communications & Marketing Director Plan, prepare, & produce Foundation publications, including: updates to website, monthly newsletters & news releases, sponsor education materials, event flyers, banners, posters, postcards & brochures.  Maintain & update Foundations photo library. Maintains newsletter mailing list. Works with local press & school newsletters to announce events, sign-ups, game results & manages media relations.   Receive game reports via e-mail & compiles to collect game results for posting to the website & submitting to local papers.  Recommend finding 1-3 Coordinators to assist in fulfilling role; Art Coordinator, Press Coordinator, Publicity Coordinator.

Community Director Identifies available gym time in the PMS & PHS gyms by working with Recreation Department & School District. Coordinates with team’s gym time requests for practices, & helps resolve conflicts if they arise, & gym sharing as needed. Submits permit applications for available gym time follows up to obtain permits, e-mails permits obtained to teams & PBBF treasurer. May also pursue gyms outside Piedmont if necessary. Act as liaison with Recreation Department to determine how PBBF can assist Department in improving their programs.   Coordinates Summer Open Gym Program and High School Half program .  Recommend finding 1-3 Coordinators to assist in fulfilling role; Recreation Liaison, Gym Coordinator, Open Gym Coordinator & HS Half Time Coordinator.

Purchasing Director Orders, receives, stocks equipment & uniforms. Disburses to coaches as needed. Equipment includes-balls, coaches’ bags, practice jerseys & uniforms. Sources vendors for t-shirts, coaches’ shirts, PBBF banners, printers for postcards & brochure. Orders, receives & stocks all of the above. Recommend finding 1-2 Coordinators to assist in fulfilling role; Equipment & Uniform Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator.

Registrar Director Responsible for organizing & managing the entire registration process for the Foundations programs. Responding to registration questions & follow-up on player payments.

Special Events Director The Special Events Director is responsible for managing our special events: our events evolve year to year.  In the past we have participated in the 4th of July Parade, hosted a March Madness/Coaches appreciation event & MVP Banquet. Responsibilities include event planning, publicity, phone calling, setting up & cleaning up, organizing food & games, & so on.  Recommend finding 1-4 Coordinators to assist in fulfilling.
